We seem to have a love/hate relationship with New Year’s Day. For some it’s a favorite day, filled with the excitement of fresh starts and new opportunities. For others, they just don’t want to be reminded of the past year and are hopeful for a new beginning.
Why does it feel like a fresh start or a new beginning? It’s the way people are looking at it. People use the new year as a reason to feel optimistic, set goals, and let go of the past year. People use it as a REASON.
A new year feels exciting and filled with opportunity, yet in reality it’s just another day and how you’re thinking about it that makes it exciting. Every day can be that way for you. Every day can be your REASON.
In every single day, there is an incredible potential for new and exciting possibilities and transformations. You can feel this every day if you know it’s possible.
How is it that two people can attend the exact same event, even together, yet have completely different views of the experience? It’s what they think of it. After all, we’re all walking around with our own view/map of the world created by our personal view of our experiences.
What you think shapes your behavior, which indirectly controls the way your life unfolds. Thought creates feeling. Feeling creates action. Action shapes the state of our lives.
Why can’t we view life with optimism, love, and understanding rather than negativity, hate, or fear? Imagine what the state of our lives could be! Not every experience we face is going to be pleasant; it’s how we view it that determines how we approach it.
From the bottom of my heart, I wish you a REASON for starting afresh every single day. For me personally, my REASON is to help bring this understanding to others.
